Dr. Michael Taylor graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1980. He has been in primarily avian & exotic animal practice since 1982 & has devoted all his professional time to this field since 1986 when he founded the first exclusively avian & exotic animal practice in Ontario, Canada. In 1994 he joined the staff of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the Ontario Veterinary College as Service Chief in avian & exotic animal medicine. Since 1989, Dr Taylor has instructed the laboratories in avian endoscopy held in conjuction with the annual meeting of the Association of Avian Veterinarians. Working in conjuction with Karl Storz Veterinary Endoscopy he developed a unique diagnostic endoscopy system for birds. He has a strong interest in avicultural medicine & emerging diseases of captive birds.

New views of old friends: Advanced imaging techniques for parrots In this presentation we will examine a variety of imaging techniques that allow us to examine our birds in safer, more effective and powerful ways. Included will be a tour of the Ontario Veterinary Collegeâ€™s CT, MRI and fluoroscopy imaging suites at the Ontario Veterinary College . Video and still images will be used to show how these tools have been used to help birds in ways previously not possible.
