Nathalie has a biology degree from the University of Guelph. Her interest in birds began at an early age when she recalls asking her parents for a pet parrot. She worked at the Mostert aviaries for about 7 years where she gained experience with hand raising a large variety of parrot specieswhere she obtained her initial knowledge of the psittacine species. She has attended many Canadian Parrot Symposiums in Toronto and continued to further her knowledge about psittacines.

She attended her first Golden Triangle Parrot Club meeting 1990 and has been on the executive in various positions for over 7 years including newsletter editor, speaker coordinator, website master and has been the President of the club since 2002.

Her other hobbies include painting, photography, and dancing. She enjoys being a mother of 4 precious little girls and her 6 feathered friends, an Alexandrine “Krys”, 2 Congo African Greys “Kito” and “Coco”, a quaker parakeet “Jericho”, two dogs; “Kali” and “Shiva” and her most recent addition is a Blue and Gold Macaw named “Lacey”.

She currently works full time as the Support Services Technologist for the Department of Pathobiology at the Ontario Veterinary College. This position involves the prep work for student labs, assisting with teaching diagnostic procedures, developing and maintaining on-line course materials for veterinary students and the list goes on.

She took on the task as one of the organizers of the 2005 Canadian Parrot Conference and will continue to share her love and support of parrots as one of the directors of the CPC. She was invited to be an advisory board member for Parrots International in 2009 and is also the technical editor of PI Press.
