Intro to Parrots Sessions

Are you new to the world of parrots or perhaps have been considering a parrot joining your family? Learn about these magnificent birds at our intro sessions being held in the tradeshow room. Sessions are included with the tradeshow room access.

Session Times:
Multiple times a day on both Saturday and Sunday

The PDD Campaign

Has your bird or birds been tested for PDD? Now that there is a test available, it is time to take action and be part of of the fight ABV be ABV free campaign to further our understanding of this devastating disease.There is still so much to learn!

Testing available at the conference on the following days and times:

Friday – 6 to 9 pm

Saturday – 9 am to 3 pm

Sunday – 11 am to 1 pm

When receiving results:

You will receive a special band indicating that your bird has been tested and is awaiting results
Your name will be entered to win the prize.
You will receive results and be given a special fightABV button once your bird tests NEGATIVE for ABV!

PRIZES

Your name will be entered into a special raffle to win one of two beautifully framed photographs of an African Grey Parrot (to be drawn on both Saturday and Sunday).

Natural Inspirations Parrot Cages is a family owned and operated business based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The cofounders, Karrie Noterman and Rick Kamperman, combine years of parrot experience together with extensive engineering, construction, and materials knowledge to create unique, safe, quality-built bird toys and cages. Much of the Inspiration for the products comes from Karrie’s amazing pet birds, as well as parrots that she’s worked with, and her experiences with wild parrots from around the world.

WHO IS THE WILD WORLD PRODUCTION COMPANY?

Danielle Sciara and Shelley Turner

Shelley is a certified CAZA (Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums) zoo animal technician. She has worked with a large variety of animals including large cats, lemurs, wolves, birds, horses, and many other exotic and domestic animals. She has extensive experience in hand rearing, training, public education and outreach. Shelley loves to share her love of animals with people of all ages.

Danielle has a degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Guelph. She has enjoyed working in the field of animal training and public education for many years. She has worked with and trained birds of prey, parrots, mammals, and reptiles. Danielle has extensive experience delivering exciting and informative presentations and shows.

The Wild World Production Company was created because we are dedicated to teaching people of all ages about the amazing animals in which we share this planet. We are very excited to meet you and introduce you to our amazing family of Animal Stars!

Hamilton Parrot Club

The Canadian Parrot Conference is excited to announce that another club has joined the Pennies4Parrot Challenge 2011. We welcome the Hamilton Parrot Club in supporting parrot conservation.

The Hamilton Parrot Club provides monthly meetings to assist in socializing pet parrots and to educate their owners in the enrichment of parrots in captivity. Meetings feature speakers, videos, a lending library, socials, raffles and hands on learning. Club members also participate in educational events and pet therapy programs with their birds.
